The Gospel and Living Radically

What does the gospel mean for those who believe in Christ? The gospel is beautiful good news for all Christ-followers. The implications of the gospel clearly call Christians to live radically. In this video, Pastor David Platt shares the essence of the gospel and what it means for Christians.

  1. What is the Gospel
  2.  What Does the Gospel Mean?

So the gospel is what beckons us to live the radical life, the glorious reality that the God of the universe, holy, just, and loving has looked upon hopelessly, rebellious, sinful people, dead in our sin, destined for eternal damnation. And He has sent His son, God in the flesh, Jesus, to bear His wrath against sin on the cross, the punishment that’s due us to show His power over sin in the resurrection, so that everyone who believes in Him, who turns from their sin, turns from themselves, trust in Him, will be reconciled to God forever. So that’s the gospel. That’s the essence of the gospel.

Living Radically For The Gospel

If that is true, then Jesus is definitely more than a poor puny savior who just begging for us to accept Him into our hearts. He is the supreme and sovereign Lord who is worthy of total abandonment and supreme adoration among all the nations and in our lives. And that this gospel transforms everything in us from the inside out. And so it’s the gospel that propels us. It’s natural. We’re compelled by the love of God, the mercy of God, the salvation of God in Christ to surrender our lives in complete and total devotion to Him. And more than we want our own lives, we want His glory known in all nations. This is just the fruit of the gospel.
