When facing Easter, make no mistake about it: if Jesus did not rise from the dead, then the Christian faith falls apart. Our sins are not forgiven, our message is a hoax, and there is no hope beyond the grave. No wonder Paul says that we are to be “pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:12-19)
However, if Jesus did rise from the dead, then he must be reckoned with. We must face his claims about Easter head-on regardless of your religious affiliation (or non-affiliation). As David Platt states in the video above, Easter is a day that everyone must face and come to terms with. Either Jesus rose from the dead on that Sunday morning as Lord of all, or he did not rise, in which case we can safely ignore his claims about the sins we have committed and the salvation he has provided. We cannot stand on a middle ground.
