Trust the Lord to Build the House

It’s entirely possible to give your entire life to working hard and doing a lot of good things, and yet in the end to find that your effort is “in vain.” Without dependence on God, all of our working and striving and anxious toil are ultimately fruitless. In this message from Psalm 127, David Platt contrasts self-dependent striving with the kind of trust in God that allows us to rest, even in the midst of needed labor and difficult days. It is God who sustains us and who ultimately builds us up, including providing the blessing of children in our families. Our parenting, like the rest of our lives, is intended to be carried out in full reliance on the Lord who builds the house.
