“Ah, Lord God, it is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
– Jeremiah 32:17
Just let that last phrase soak in today in a fresh way in your life. “Nothing is too hard for God.” And based on that truth, that reality, that our God is all powerful, that he is able to do everything that he pleases, nothing is too hard for him, I would just ask you, what are you asking God to do in your life, in your family, in your church, or your work?
What are you asking God to do in your city or your country or among the nations that only God that you know is impossible apart from God? What are you asking God to do that just looking at a situation with common sense, but that just looking at a situation, normally you would think there’s no way, but you are saying, “God, I know you can do this”?
Jeremiah 32:17 Leads Us to Pray for People to Come to Faith
And I’m guessing there are some of you who have been praying for things like this. You’ve been praying for healing in your life or in someone else’s life whom you love and you’ve been praying for somebody’s salvation, for somebody to come to faith in Jesus and it hasn’t happened. You’ve been praying for a prodigal child or parent who’s turned away from God or just seems hard toward God.
And so you’re asking for this and if we’re not careful when we ask for these things and they don’t happen in the way or the timing we desire, we can start to doubt the power of God. And I just want to encourage us whether we are not praying for these things and need to be praying for things that are really hard, if not impossible, or if we are praying like this for things in our lives, things in the world around us and we’re starting to doubt whether or not God is all-powerful.
Jeremiah 32:17 Leads Us to Pray Boldly
Here in a fresh way, Jeremiah 32:17, “Ah, Lord God, it is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” God, we believe that. Together right now in faith, each of us listening to this, as I’m praying this, we are saying, “We believe that, God. We believe that you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arm. And that nothing is too hard for you, Lord God.”
So we pray boldly for things that are impossible apart from you. God, for all the kinds of things I just mentioned, God, we pray for healing. We pray for salvation. We pray for returning to you. Lord, we pray for soft hearts towards you. God, we pray for your mercy in our cities and our countries.
Praying for Spiritual Awakening and Revival in North Korea
Even as we think about what we were praying in Jeremiah 29 for the welfare of the cities in which we live, God, we pray for spiritual awakening and revival in our cities for a turning to you in our countries. God, we are praying for North Korea for the spread of the gospel in North Korea. God, nothing is too hard for you. Would you open up the doors for the gospel to spread in North Korea?
That’s not too hard for you, oh God. That’s not too hard for you. Specifically today to pray for the deaf in North Korea. God, we pray for deaf men and women and children across North Korea. Please, it’s not too hard for you. God do it, cause the Gospel to spread among them. God, none of these things are too hard for you. You are all powerful. So we pray, God, show your power.
Trust in the Wisdom of God
And as we pray that, we say in the same breath, “We trust your wisdom. We trust your wisdom that you not answering in this way or at this time is not a demonstration of lack of power in you. We trust that it’s a demonstration of greater wisdom in you than we have.”
And so we say, “We trust in your power and your wisdom together and we pray that you would help us, teach us to pray with faith, to live with faith, to lead by faith, that nothing is too hard for you, to be confident in your power and your wisdom and your love.”
We pray all these things. According to your word in Jeremiah 32 verse 17, nothing is too hard for you, oh God. Teach us to pray and live accordingly in Jesus’ name. Amen. Help us to pray and live accordingly, we pray. Help us to pray and live accordingly in Jesus’ name. Amen.
