The Resurrection and the Life

What does it mean for Christ to be our resurrection and life? How does believing that truth change our lives? In this message on John 11:1–44, Jim Shaddix reveals our need hope and help, especially as we consider death and life. He highlights four applications for us to live out right now.

  1. Don’t deny death or wait for a sign to prepare for it.
  2. Trust Jesus for resurrection and life, now, and forever.
  3. Be afraid of dying, but don’t be afraid of death.
  4. Tell everyone how to overcome death through Jesus.

Jim Shaddix is a professor of expository preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a pastor in Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, and Colorado, and as dean of the chapel and professor of preaching at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
