Focus on Christ (Short Video Excerpt)

As long as your faith is in your circumstances, or, for that matter, as long as your faith is focused on anyone or anything apart from Christ, then it won’t matter how much faith you have.

If your eyes are on anyone or anything else, you will fall. If your faith is dependent on your circumstances, then your faith will bob up and down according to the wind and waves of the world around you. But when your eyes are on Christ, when the all-sovereign, gracious, loving, merciful King of creation is the focus of your faith, you can always rest secure. Your faith will be constant . . . why?

Because Christ is constant.

That’s why the author of Hebrews exhorts us in Hebrews 12:2–3 that we are to be,

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. . . . Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

Faith realizes that when you are weak, He is strong. So faith doesn’t try to be stronger. Faith fixes your eyes on the One who alone is strong.

You don’t try to manufacture peace. No, you fix your eyes moment by moment on the Prince of Peace.

You don’t try to muster up a way to meet your needs. No, you fix your eyes on the only One who is sufficient to meet all your needs.

You realize, you believe, that Jesus is strength in you.

LESS THAN 1% OF ALL MONEY GIVEN TO MISSIONS GOES TOWARDS REACHING THE UNREACHED.

That means that the people with the most urgent spiritual and physical needs are receiving the least support. You can help change that!
