Love that Never Ceases (Lamentations 3:21–24)

“But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end.” They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion says my soul, therefore, I will hope in him.”
– Lamentations 3:21–24

These are definitely some of the most famous verses and Lamentations and beautiful verses in all the Bible. I just want to encourage you in your life today. Obviously, I don’t know all that’s going on in your life, but I do know this and no matter what’s going on in your life today, or what will happen tomorrow, that you have hope in the steadfast love of the Lord for you, that his steadfast love for you, for all who trust in him, through Jesus, his son, his steadfast love for you, never ceases and that his mercies never come to an end, that every morning you wake up, God delights to show you new mercies and that God will be faithful to you, faithful to provide for you, to lead you, to guide you through whatever is going on in your life, that as long as he is your portion, you have hope in him.

Lamentations 3:21–24 Leads Us to Praise God for the Hope

Would you just receive this today in your life, these words spoken over all who trust in Jesus, which leads us to pray. Jesus, we praise you for making this hope and love and mercy possible for us through your death on the cross and your resurrection from the grave. So based upon faith in you, we say together, we have hope. We praise you for your hope.

And God, I pray for a fresh sense of hope for anyone who’s experiencing despair right now, who’s struggling in any way, that you right now, would speak to the hearts of your people and remind them in this moment, they have hope and their hope is in the unfailing, never ending, steadfast love that you have for them, that you have for us, that will never cease, with mercies that are new every morning.

Praying for Unreached People in Mali

God help us to wake up with this perspective, with the realization there’s just new mercies waiting for us, that your faithfulness is great and is always reliable, always dependable. You are always trustworthy. And therefore with you as our portion, we have hope. God, we praise you for the truth of Lamentations 3:21–24 for this beautiful picture. And God, we pray for people who don’t know this picture. Lord, for the people of Mali, 169,000 of them, no known followers of Jesus. Please, for the Dune people, for this tribe because the steadfast love of Jesus, the mercies of Jesus, the faithfulness of Jesus to be made known among the Dune in Mali.

God, please bring it about for their sake, for their good, for your glory among them. God, we want them to know and experience the hope and love and mercy that we experience in our lives. We pray for that for them, even as we praise you for these things in our lives in Jesus’ name, in Jesus’ name, according to Lamentations 3:21–24, thank you for these verses. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
