Submitting to God’s Word (Deuteronomy 28:2)

“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you obey the voice of the Lord, your God.” Is that not an awesome verse? Is that not an awesome promise? God telling his people that all these blessings shall come upon them and then listen to the word, “Will overtake them if they obey the voice of the Lord, their God.”
– Deuteronomy 28:2

Don’t you want to be overtaken by the blessing of God? Don’t you want that to describe your life today and tomorrow and the next day and the next day? I’m overtaken by his blessing.

So how do you experience blessing life like that? You listened to and you obey the voice of the Lord. This is so good. God’s word brings life. God’s word brings blessing. And God’s word brings a life that is overtaken by blessing. Just meditate on that today. We would be foolish to do anything but live as fully obedient as possible to the word of God in every way, knowing that obeying his voice leads to being overtaken by his blessing.

Deuteronomy 28:2 Prays To Obey His Voice

God, may it be so. So God, I pray that over every single person listening right now. I don’t know what they’re walking through right now, but I know, I know they need to be overtaken by your blessing, and they desire, for all who trust in you, they desire to live overtaken by your blessing. May it be so today through obedience to your voice. Oh God, we love your voice. We love your word, we praise you for it, we love praying according to it, and so we pray now, according to Deuteronomy 28:2 help us to obey your voice today and to live overtaken by your blessing.

This Verse Wants God To Overtake Us With His Qualities

We pray for you overtake us today. Your goodness, your love, your mercy, your wisdom, your courage, your strength, your joy, God I just pray all these things to overtake those who are listening right now. Even as I pray for them in my own life. As we obey your voice, God, help us to obey your voice and experience your blessing like this.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. In the name of the one who makes it possible by his bloodshed on the cross for us to be overtaken by the blessing of God, in Jesus’ name, we pray Deuteronomy 28:2. Amen.
