Afghanistan continues to be an incredibly vulnerable place for those who have come to Christ. The Taliban now controls in the country, making it unsafe for Christians. Should a convert to Christianity be discovered by their family, they can expect to be disowned or, in many cases, killed. (Source: Open Doors)

Pray that the underground church in Afghanistan would flourish in the face of opposition. Pray for fellowship among Christians in Afghanistan, that they may support and encourage one another in their faith. Pray that they may find ways to connect with other believers, even in the midst of challenges and isolation.

Pray that God’s Spirit would give boldness and wisdom to Afghan believers as they seek to share their faith with others despite the risks involved. Pray that they may have discernment to know when and how to share the gospel and that their witness may draw others to Christ.

Pray for the safety and protection of Christians in Afghanistan. Ask God to provide them with courage, strength, and wisdom to navigate difficult situations, and to shield them from harm.

Pray for the spiritual growth and discipleship of Christians in Afghanistan, that they may mature in their faith and become strong disciples of Jesus Christ. Pray for access to sound biblical teaching and discipleship resources, including Bibles, that will help them grow in their relationship with God.

Pray for an end to the oppressive governing authority in this nation.
