What is God's "Calling" on My Life? - Radical

What is God’s “Calling” on My Life?

Hearing about massive numbers of unreached peoples and places across the world causes many followers of Christ to ask questions like, “Is God calling me to be a missionary?” as well as “What does this mean for my life and vocation?”

These are the kinds of questions many are likely asking following Secret Church 21, “The Great Imbalance.” However, we often approach these questions in unhelpful, and even unbiblical, ways. Some of the confusion surrounds the word “calling” and what we expect God’s calling to look like in our lives.

In the video below, David Platt looks at the Bible’s teaching on the concept of “calling.” This is one of six videos in which Platt examines the ways the Bible talks about our calling as followers of Christ. Certainly, we are called to salvation, called to mission, called to a particular station in life, and called to service.

In order for us to discern whether God is calling us to go to an unreached people group, we need to think through the other, more foundational, ways in which he has called every follower of Christ.

Even if you don’t sense that God is leading you to cross oceans and continents, grab a Bible. Then, follow along with these short videos as you prayerfully ask the question, “What is God’s calling on my life?”

LESS THAN 1% OF ALL MONEY GIVEN TO MISSIONS GOES TO UNREACHED PEOPLE AND PLACES.

That means that the people with the most urgent spiritual and physical needs on the planet are receiving the least amount of support. Together we can change that!
