Seven Truths about the Spiritual World
We often focus on what we can see, measure, and explain, forgetting that the Bible describes a spiritual reality beyond our physical world. Temptation, suffering, and the struggle to share the gospel are not merely ordinary challenges. We are part of a spiritual battle with eternal consequences, yet we do not always recognize what is happening around us.
In Ephesians 6:10–20, David Platt explains seven truths about the spiritual world and the battle in which every Christian is involved. Scripture calls us to recognize our spiritual enemy, depend on God’s greater power, and put on the whole armor of God as we stand firm in Christ.
This battle touches every part of our lives, from our thoughts and relationships to our families, communities, and efforts to reach the nations. Our enemy is strong, but Jesus is stronger. We cannot overcome spiritual opposition through human strength or ingenuity. We need God’s Word, prayer, faith, and the power of Christ working in us. As we stand firm in him, we must also press forward, boldly proclaiming the gospel to those who have not heard. The outcome is certain: Jesus has conquered sin, Satan, and death, and all who belong to him will share in his eternal victory.
In this episode:
- Why the invisible spiritual world is just as real as the physical world
- How spiritual warfare affects every area of life and every person
- Why the stakes of this battle are eternal, especially for those who have never heard the gospel
- How prayer, Scripture, and faith equip us to resist spiritual opposition
- Why Christ’s power gives us confidence to stand firm and proclaim the gospel boldly
- How the certainty of Jesus’ victory motivates us to live for eternity
Will you learn to see your life through the reality of spiritual warfare, depend on the strength of Jesus, and boldly carry his gospel wherever he leads you?
