Lord of Salvation (Jeremiah 30:11, 17)

For I’m with you to save you, declares the Lord.

For I will restore health to you and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord.
– Jeremiah 30:11, 17

I could keep going on and on at this point in Jeremiah 30 and 31. These chapters are amazing. They are filled with pictures of God and his love for his people. I just list it out in Jeremiah 30 and 31, 52 different reasons to praise God in Jeremiah 30 and 31. And so what I’m going to do is I’m just going to basically pray all these things, and I just want you to let this soak in. And if you have time, make sure to read Jeremiah 30 and 31. All these pictures from God to his people in the Old Testament and all of them in different ways are repeated in the New Testament, so they all give us a picture of God’s relationship to us. So let’s just praise God for who he is and what he does for his people.

Jeremiah 30:11, 17 gives us a picture of God’s relationship to us.

Oh God, you restore the fortunes of your people. You keep all your promises. You break the yoke and burst the bonds of slavery. God, you are with us to save us. You remove all fear from our lives. You discipline with perfect justice. Lord, you defend your people. You restore health ultimately in resurrected bodies to come. God, you heal wounds. You care for the outcast.

God, you honor your people. You establish your people. You are holy in your wrath and anger. Lord, you give rest to all who trust in you. You love them with an everlasting love. Your faithfulness is continual. It’s never-ending. You rebuild the broken. You give mercy. Lord, you lead us in straight paths. You shepherd us as your people. God, you ransom us as your people. You redeem us as your people from hands too strong for us.

Your goodness makes us radiant. You keep your people from languishing. You cause your people to dance. God, you turn mourning into joy. You turn sorrow into comfort and gladness. You satisfy your people with your goodness. Lord, you bring an end to tears. You will one day wipe every tear from our eyes. Lord, you reward your people. You give hope for the future. You hear your people’s grieving. God, you bring your people back and restore them. You instruct your people. You remember your people.

Jeremiah 30:11, 17 gives us reasons to praise the Lord of our salvation.

Your heart yearns for those who trust in you. You take the old and you make it new. You’re the Lord of hosts. You make your people holy and righteous. You satisfy the weary soul. Lord, you replenish the languishing soul. You give pleasant sleep to those who trust in you. You build and plant your people. You’re a husband to your people, and we are your bride.

You put your law within and on our hearts. God, you give light to the sun. You fix the order of the moon and the stars. You stir the sea so that its waves roar, and you love us with all that power.

Your promises last forever. You are our God. We belong to you. You forgive our iniquity. You remember our sins no more, and we have the privilege of knowing you personally as our God.

Oh God, we praise you for who you are, and for all that you do in our lives as your people. God we pray. Help us to spread the good news of who you are and all you do for all who trust in you to others today and to all the nations of the world.

Prayer for the Torgut Kalmyk People

God, we pray for the Torgut Kalmyk people of China. God, we pray for this people group of 200,000, no known followers of Jesus. They don’t know these things about you. Oh God, please change that. We pray for the Togut Kalmyk people that they might be reached with the good news of your grace and your love in Jesus with all these truths that we see about you in Jeremiah 30 and 31.

Oh God, we love your Word. We love you. Lord, we praise you. We glorify you, and we pray all this in Jesus’ name, who represents all of these things, who makes all of these things possible for us. In his name, we pray. Amen.
