My mouth is filled with your praise and with your glory all the day.
– Psalm 71:8
Don’t you want Psalm 71:8 to mark your life? Live in this verse today. Live in this verse in this moment. In the next five, 10 minutes and all throughout the day and into the night and the next day. May our mouths be filled with praise to God and with his glory all the day.
God, we pray that you would fill our mouths with your praise.
This Verse Reminds Us to Worship God All Day Long
What a picture. All the day, all day long from the moment we wake up in the morning to the moment we lay our heads on our pillows at night. May our mouths just constantly be praising God and may our mouths be filled with his glory all day long. What a God-centered way to live. What a glorious way to live, and what a fulfilling way to live. Enraptured by the glory of God, giving praise and honor and worship and glory to God all day long.
Let’s do this. Can we just try today? I don’t know when you’re listening to this, if you’re listening to this at the beginning of the day or middle of the day or it’s the end of the day, then start tomorrow. But just the rest of today or tomorrow, just think, okay, I want my mouth to be filled with the praise of God all day, before others, and in the moments where we’re by ourselves, our mouths just filled with the praise of God. Filled with his glory all the day. Just look for as many opportunities as possible today to speak of the greatness of God, to speak of the goodness and just all the attributes of God. Ultimately the glory of God. Let’s fill our mouths with his glory all day long.
Psalm 71:8: Asking God to Remind Us to Worship Him Daily
God, we pray you help us to live like this every day. But especially, especially today. Those of us who are going to sleep right now, tomorrow. God, we pray that you would fill our mouths with your praise. That we would live every moment today. It’s all this stuff we’re doing, the small things we’re doing in life and school and work and our homes, around just running errands, whatever we might do. God, we pray you can help us to live today with our mouths filled with your praise, that we would just live with mouths overflowing with worship, thanksgiving and praise of all your attributes, all day long today. We want our mouths today, all day long to be filled with your glory. God teach us to live in a Psalm 71:8 kind of way.
A Prayer of Praise
Jesus, starting right now. God, we praise you. We exalt you for all of your glory. For the beauty of all of your attributes. You are loving, gracious, and merciful. You are just, kind, faithful, and all-powerful. You’re our creator. You’re our sustainer. You are our Lord. You are our savior and our king. There is no one like you. You’re the one true God and we worship you. We glorify you. There is nothing like you in this world. You alone can satisfy our souls and you do. You satisfy our souls, and you forgive our sins. You’ve restored us to relationship with you.
You’ve sent your son to die on the cross for our sins. We’ve risen from the grave. Lord Jesus, you have ascended on high. You’re at the right hand of the father, interceding for us right now. We praise you in all of your glory. You have all authority in heaven and on earth. You reign over all. You’re the coming king who will bring ultimate and final justice and redemption in this world. You are our hope, you are our joy, and you are our life. We love you. Oh God, we love you with all our heart and our soul and all our mind and all our strength. And we pray.
We pray that all of these attributes and more, that all of the ways that you provide and more. God, we pray. We pray that all of these attributes and more would continually be exalted on our lips, that our mouths would be filled with your glory all day long. In Jesus’ name, we pray, in Jesus’ name, we praise you. We fill our mouths with your praise. Amen.
