And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him. (1 Kings 19:21)

This summer, we offered a 60-day challenge leading you to pray for the nations according to God’s Word, exposing you to God’s heart for the nations in His Word, equipping you to reach the nations right around you, and helping you to discover the part God is calling you to play among the nations. Are you willing to risk it all?

Redemptive history is full of men and women who have risked it all to radically alter the course of peoples, nations, tribes, and tongues. Risk-takers like Elisha, whose life turned upside down when a fiery-eyed prophet named Elijah beckoned him on a journey that would witness miracles, confront kings, and shape nations. Elisha counted the cost and then joyfully paid it. He made a fire, drew his blade, slaughtered his livestock, burned everything he had, and he went.

That might seem like a dramatic movement that only a handful of people are called to make, but it is a picture of what Jesus has called all of his followers to do. Hear his words in Luke 14:

If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. … So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26–27, 33)

So what about you? Will you truly follow the fiery-eyed prophet greater than Elijah whose name is Jesus? Will you refuse to settle for small dreams and safe faith? Instead, will you spend your life on supernatural dreams with dangerous faith as you spread His fame to the furthest frontiers? Will you risk it all with confidence that His reward is worth more than everything this world offers you?

The Elisha Project is about equipping 18-25 year-olds to spend their lives for the spread of God’s glory among all nations. To make significant decisions about what school you attend, degree you choose, career you pursue, or person you marry through the lens of God’s world-changing purpose for your life. To take steps now that will keep you from wasting your life on empty pursuits, hollow pleasures, and fading possessions. To help you leverage your life for that which lasts forever.

Why join?

The world is seductive! Daily we are accosted by a worldview that feeds on our egocentric nature and gradually and stealthily causes us to compromise a life that should be daily yielding to Jesus and His mission. There are approximately 2 billion people in the world who have never heard the name of Jesus and will perish in an eternity of conscious torment. The seductions of this world have calloused our hearts, and our lives cry out, “I don’t care!”

Our prayer is that this 60-Day Challenge would awaken you to God’s omnipotent passion for the nations to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.

How it works
