“I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us. And the great goodness to the house of Israel that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love.”
– Isaiah 63:7
It is good to pause in our lives and just recount the steadfast love of the Lord. The praises of the Lord according to all the Lord has granted us.
We should regularly bring to mind God’s faithfulness and His love toward us.
This Verse Reminds Us to Thank God for All of the Ways He’s Shown His Love for Us
I want to encourage you to do that right now. Just in your own heart, to pause for a minute here in your day, and just recount all the ways God has shown His steadfast love to you. Maybe it’s even to pause this podcast and just in your own heart, or if you’re with somebody else, or together to say, “Let’s just think about all the ways God has shown His love to us.”
And then, once you’ve just recounted His love, His steadfast love towards you, His goodness towards you. Then just look up in His face. So not just at His hands, all the gifts He’s given you. But look up toward Him, and let’s just express love for Him as it’s expressed in Isaiah 63:7. Not even just love for the gifts, and the good things He’s given us, the ways He’s shown us His love. Let’s just praise Him, because He is love.
Prayer of Gratitude
God, we are so overwhelmed when we pause and we think about your goodness toward us. Your grace, your compassion toward us, all the evidences of your grace and your goodness in our lives, thank you. Thank you for all the good gifts you’ve given us. Thank you for the way you lead us, guide us, and direct our lives. And thank you for the ways you’ve been with us in the middle of really hard times. Maybe some of us are in really hard times right now. For the way you’re with us right now, we praise you for all the ways you have granted love to us.
Isaiah 63:7: Recounting God’s Steadfast Love
So we thank you and praise you for these things. And then we just look to you, oh God. You are love. You are love. God is love. We praise you, oh God, we love you, oh God, and we worship you, oh God. Our hearts cry out for you. We seek you and we thirst for you. We want to know you and we want to worship you. Additionally, we want to glorify you and we love you, God. And we want to love you more. We want to love you with all our heart, and all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength. Oh God, we pray that the more we just recount your steadfast love toward us, that you would increase our affection and love for you. All glory be to your name, for your love for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
