God Made the Earth (Jeremiah 10:12)

“It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the heavens.”
– Jeremiah 10:12

Oh, I just want to encourage you today with the greatness of God in Jeremiah 10:12, and to lead us to praise Him, and to confess, express our trust in Him. Just think about what this simple verse is saying about the greatness of our God. He made the earth by His power.

Just look around you in the world today and realize all of this came to be, all the beauty and grandeur of creation came to be because He spoke a word. He made the whole earth by His power and He established the world by His wisdom. His wisdom is world establishing. That’s very wise. The way our bodies work, the way the sun and the moon and the stars work, the way seasons work, the way the world is held together.

Jeremiah 10:12 Tells Us that God Made the Earth

It’s all because of the wisdom of God. Isn’t this encouragement? It’s all held together by the wisdom of God. And by His understanding, he’d stretched out the heavens. What have you done by your understanding? What have I done by my understanding? We do some things that God has gifted us to do, but we can’t stretch out the heavens with our understanding. Isn’t this encouraging to see this picture of God amidst whatever’s going on in your life right now?

To know that you know and serve and love and are in relationship with the God whose power made the earth. You know Him, this is who you trust in, the God who has all power and who has world establishing wisdom, amidst all the things you or I don’t understand that are going on in our lives right now, that we can know that God is all wise, that His wisdom established the world, sustains the world. We can trust His wisdom and His understanding. He knows things we don’t know. He sees things we don’t see.

Trusting in the Lord

Oh God, we say in a fresh way today, based on Jeremiah 10:12, we trust in You. We worship You. We fear and revere You. God, we love You. God, we stand in awe of You, Lord God Almighty. And we are so thankful to know You personally, to know You as our father, us as Your children, me as Your son, each one of us as son or daughter who’s trusted in Jesus. And together, we praise You today for Your power, by which You made the earth.

We praise You today for Your wisdom, with which You established the world. And we praise You for Your understanding to stretch out the heavens and amidst everything that’s going on in each of our lives, we say today, we trust in You. We confess and express our worship of You, our awe of You, our trust in You. And all of our hope we say together is in You, who made the earth by Your power, established the world by Your wisdom, and by Your understanding stretched out the heavens.

We pray this in Jesus’ name, according to Jeremiah 10:12. Amen.
