God Is the Giver of Wisdom (Proverbs 2:6–11)

“For the Lord gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and watching over the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path. For wisdom will come into your heart. And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will guard you.”
– Proverbs 2:6–11

Proverbs 2:6–11 are such rich verses. They show us how God gives wisdom and what happens in our lives as a result of that. So I wanna read these verses and then just literally pray these verses in our lives. So here’s Proverbs 2:6–11.

Proverbs 2:6–11 Guards the Path of Wisdom

We pray that God would pour wisdom into our hearts by His grace.

So let’s pray that. God, may this be so in our lives. We pray for all of these things. I pray of these things in my life. I pray for these things for each person listening to this, that you would give us wisdom. Grant us, we pray, knowledge and understanding. Help us to be upright in every way. Shield us, we pray, that we might walk in integrity. God help us today to walk in integrity. Help us to guard paths of justice in our life. And we trust that you will watch over our way. You watch over the way of your saints. Watch over our way today, we pray.

This Verse Helps Us Understand Righteousness

Help us to understand righteousness. Help us to understand justice in a world that’s full of injustice. Lord, help us to understand what is right and true. Help us to understand equity. Lord, help us to understand every good path as we make decisions, as we chart the course in our lives. Help us to understand what the good path is to walk in. Lord, help us to understand every good path, we pray. May wisdom come into our hearts by your grace, oh God. Pour out wisdom into our hearts and pour out knowledge in a way that is pleasant to our souls.

May discretion watch over us. Lord, help us to walk and live and speak with discretion. May understanding guard us in every way from walking away from you, from not walking in your wisdom. Oh God, we pray that all of these things would be so because you are the one who gives wisdom. We need wisdom. From your mouth, come knowledge and understanding. So we ask for it. Lead us, guide us in all these ways we pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
