Always Hope in God (Job 13:15)

“Though he slay me, I will hope in him.” Now that is a powerful statement. “Though he slay me,” Job says. “Though I come under the weight of whatever God is doing in my life, in this moment. I will hope in him.” These parts of the book of Job were amidst all his questions, and his wrestling, and his anguish, and his suffering. He pauses. And we have these powerful declarations of faith. “Though he slay me, I will hope in him.”
-Job 13:15

There is hope in God. Always. Always, always, always. Even when it seems like thing is dark, there is hope in God always for our lives, and our families, and our churches, in the work we do for the spread of the gospel around the world. Just think about brothers and sisters who walk through really hard days and wondering is it going anywhere, face obstacles and opposition, and wonder are we going to be able to get through this?

Job 13:15 Reminds Us There is Hope in God

There is hope always in God. And so we pray. God, our hope is in you. We believe in you. We trust in you. And we know that in you, we always have hope. So we say no matter what we’re walking through, no matter what we’re facing, our hope is in you. And our hope is not in anyone, anything else. No one else is worthy of our hope like this, oh God. You alone are worthy of our hope. We praise you for the hope we have in you. And so we pray together for the spread of this hope in this world.

Job 13:15 Teaches Us Everyone Needs Hope

God, so many people, everyone needs hope. They need hope that’s only found in you. God, I think about going to stratus.earth and you look at all these different countries, and physical suffering in them, and spiritual suffering, people walking through such physical suffering without the gospel, without gospel hope. God, we pray for the spread of the gospel to them. We pray for the spread of the gospel to the Nubri of Nepal. God, please, cause your hope to go to this remote people group that they might know the hope that’s found in Jesus alone.

This Verse Leads Us to Pray for the Spread of the Gospel

God, please bless all those who are working for the spread of the gospel to the Nubri of Nepal and multitudes of other people groups in the world where the gospel’s not yet gone, that they might hope in you. God, please help to be bearers of hope, messengers of hope today, to people in despair around us. Help us to point people to the hope of Jesus. Just confessing together. You are always our hope, and we know that in you our hope is well-founded. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
