Supernatural Gifts and Supernatural Gatherings

Did you know that every Christian has unique, supernatural abilities—gifts given by the Holy Spirit—designed to bring everlasting good to other people? And did you know that when Christians gather weekly to worship the Lord, they are part of a supernatural gathering that’s designed for their everlasting good? In this message from 1 Corinthians 14:26–40, David Platt points to the significance and purpose of spiritual gifts and the church’s corporate worship. Rather than being self-focused, passive spectators, we are to actively seek to serve others as we pursue the ultimate purpose of our gatherings and of our lives—the glory of God.

David Platt serves as a Lead Pastor for McLean Bible Church. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Radical, an organization that helps people follow Jesus and make him known in their neighborhood and all nations.

David received his B.A. from the University of Georgia and M.Div., Th.M., and Ph.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Some of his published works include Radical, Radical Together, Follow Me, Counter Culture, Something Needs to Change, and Don’t Hold Back.

He lives in the Washington, D.C. metro area with his wife and children.
