Lord of All Nations (Psalm 22:27–28) - Radical

Lord of All Nations (Psalm 22:27–28)

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nation shall worship before You, for Kingship belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations.
– Psalm 22:27–28

Yes, yes, yes, yes. This is a picture in the Psalms of God’s plan for all the world, for the culmination of all history.

Psalm 22:27–28 Is An Universal Call to Worship

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nation shall worship before Him. This is Revelation 7:9–10, prophesied in Psalm 22:27. Every nation, every tribe, every people, every language bowing around the throne of Jesus, for Kingship belongs to the Lord, praising Him as King and Him ruling over all the nations, all the peoples.

I think about at our prayer gatherings and our church family recently. There have been different times where we just have prayed for different nations. Just recently we were, one night, praying for just the nations where we had lived in the room. It was later the night and so the room wasn’t totally full by any means, but just the nations represented in that room. People just started calling them out all over the place from Bolivia to Qatar, from Saudi Arabia to India and Taiwan and Indonesia. I mean, just the list kept going on and on and on.

Psalm 22:27–28 Reminds us that All People Will Ultimately Worship the Lord

It was so awesome just to consider all the different places we had lived in just that room. One day, all the nations and not just those geopolitical entities that we think of when we think of nations countries, but all the diverse people groups from all of those countries will one day worship before the Lord King Jesus. He rules over all the nations. So we pray, our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name in all the earth.

Cause Your name to be known, enjoyed, exalted as King in all the nations we pray. As we pray most every day on this podcast for unreached people in the world, specifically today for the Banten people of Indonesia, over 3 million in this Muslim people group. We know that this people group belongs to you. Jesus, You have died to ransom people from the Banten of Indonesia. One day they are going to be Banten men, women gathered around Your throne, singing your praises, Jesus, as King.

Praying for the Banten People

So we pray, bring it about. God, cause the gospel of Your Kingdom to spread among the Banten people of Indonesia. Raise up laborers to go to the Banten people of Indonesia and give them success as they go. Cause Your word to spread, disciples to be made and churches to be planted among the Banten of Indonesia. God, I, even as we’re praying, just feel yet again, this sense of confidence that’s found in Your promise in Psalm 22, that when we go to the nations, they will turn to You as King.

They will come to know You as Lord and Savior and King when we proclaim this gospel. God, I pray for everyone who’s working on the front lines right now of unreached people in the world. God, give them confidence in their work, knowing You are with them and for them and You will lead them and guide them to bring about the culmination of Your plans for all the world and God, we pray that it wouldn’t just be those on the front lines giving their lives to this, that every follower of Jesus, we would all give our lives to seeing Psalm 22:27–28, become a reality.

Transform the way we pray, the way we give, the way we live right around us, making disciples of the nations that are right around us and every one of us open to however You might lead us to make disciples of the nations far from us in anticipation of the day when all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to You and all the families of the nation shall worship before You, for Kingship belongs to You and You rule over the nations. Amen.
