Proven True (Proverbs 30:5)

“Every word of God proves true, and he is a shield to those who take refuge in.”
– Proverbs 30:5

What a promise in this proverb. Every word of God proves true. When we look at The Bible, the inspired word of god we can have confidence that it is true. It is inherent without error, that it is totally truthful in all of its teachings. It’s an awesome thought. When you open your Bible you see 66 books, and you know every single word here is true. Every single word, every word of God proves true. It’s flawless, some translations say.

When we look at the inspired Word of God, we can have confidence that it is true.

Just think of the security that brings in our lives, that we can bank our lives on The Bible. We can bank on our lives on every word from God. It makes sense for the second part of this verse to say, “He is a shield for him who takes refuge in him,” to find refuge in God, the God who is true, the God who has spoken. This every word is true brings security to our lives. You think about so many things that are not reliable, that don’t prove true in the end. To know that The Bible is true, and we can trust it completely. God, we thank for your word.

Proverbs 30:5 Gives Praise to the Word of God

Even as we read it, this particular proverb, this particular chapter in Proverbs, we thank you for this gift you’ve given us, the true word that you’ve entrusted to us for all 66 books in The Bible. We praise you that none of them have any error in them, that they are all true, true revelation of you and a true foundation for us. God help us to find refuge every single day in the reliability of your word. Help us to stand on it and to believe it, we pray. Help us to obey it like we know it’s going to prove true. God, we know, and we live our lives according to your word, that your promises will prove true every single time.

Proverbs 30:5 Gives Us Confidence in the Word of God

Thank you for the confidence you give us in your word. Help us to live in that confidence. Help us to find our refuge in you, in the shield you provide for us and a flawless word to us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
