The Rock, His work is perfect. For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity. Just and upright is he.
– Deuteronomy 32:4
What a strong verse. What a powerful picture of praise to God for who he is. And the verse right before Deuteronomy 32:4 is I will proclaim the name of the Lord, ascribe greatness to our God, the Rock. That’s how verse four starts, the Rock, calling God the Rock. Capital R. He is the Rock and his work is perfect. His work is perfect. All his ways. It doesn’t say all his ways are just, it says all his ways are justice. God defines justice with his ways in his word. There’s a lot of conversation, discussion, disagreement, the argument over what justice is. God is the one who defines what justice is. All of his ways are justice. He is a God of faithfulness and without iniquity. Just and upright is he.

God, we are so thankful that you are faithful to us even when we are unfaithful, that you are faithful to all your word, you are faithful to all your promises, you are faithful to carry out all of your purposes. You are faithful in all of your perfections. We praise you for your faithfulness. You are without inequity. You are perfect. Are holy. And pure. And righteous. Just and upright are you.
So God, we join with this song of praise that was sung to you thousands of years ago, we sing it afresh today. The Rock. Your work is perfect. For all your ways are justice. You are a God of faithfulness and without iniquity. Just and upright are you. We praise you in Jesus’ name, according to Deuteronomy 32:4. Amen.
