Oh, what a beautiful verse. Would you just, let’s memorize this verse together right now, just in these couple of minutes and then let’s pray according to it. But let’s just memorize Psalm 147:3 together. Such a simple verse, yet so beautiful. He heals the brokenhearted. Just say that out loud. He heals the brokenhearted. He heals the brokenhearted. Say it one more time. He heals the brokenhearted. And so he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Say that again. Binds up their wounds. Say it one more time, binds up their wounds. Let’s try to put it together. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Let’s say that together. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. One more time. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
The Only One Who Can Heal our Wounded Hearts
Help us to look to You as the only One who can heal our broken hearts and bind up our wounds.
As we say that, as we hide this verse in our heart, this really is what meditation is. When Joshua 1 talks about meditating on God’s word day and night, we see it all throughout Psalm 119, meditation on his word. We’ve seen it in the Psalms recently, I meditate on your words. It’s just saying his word over and over and over again so that it becomes a part of us. Let’s say it again. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
And as we say that, just let this soak in. I don’t know what’s going on in your life right now. What’s going on in your family right now. What’s going on in your church. Or what’s going on where you live, around you. I just think about the tensions around my country right now, and the need for healing in so many different ways.
Psalm 147:3 Thanks God for Healing the Brokenhearted
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Oh what an awesome word. What a beautiful word. What an encouraging word. Yes, what a needed word. He heals the brokenhearted and binds of their wounds. God heals the brokenhearted and he binds up their wounds. God, we praise you for this reality. Even as we hide it in our hearts right now and cement it into minds, we praise you as the only one who can ultimately heal our broken hearts.
God, in so many different ways, so many different struggles, so many different challenges, so many different pictures of broken hearts that I think of people who are praying right now. With broken hearts that they’re experiencing right now, just heartache, hurt in this way or that way, or have experienced in their life. You are the only one who can heal the brokenhearted and you don’t just heal, you bind up our wounds.
God, you restore us. You bring us back to health. God, I pray. I pray for wounds in people’s hearts, people’s lives, wounds in relationships. So God, I pray for your healing of hearts and for your binding of wounds. God, I pray for that in my country. God, amidst deep wounds that go back many years.
Psalm 147:3 Prays for Wounds to Heal
God, we pray for a binding up of wounds. Got to help us. Help us, especially in your church to look to you as the only one who heals the brokenhearted and the only one who can bind up our wounds and then help us to point others to you in this way.God, that others might know you. That others might know your love, your grace, your mercy, your healing, your binding. Jesus, we praise you as the sacrifice for our sins who made a way for our broken, sinful hearts to be healed and restored to righteousness and holiness, to relationship with you.
Oh God, thank you for healing our broken hearts and binding up the wounds of our sin and our transgression, which warrant your wrath. Yet you have healed our broken hearts and you are the one who binds our wounds. We praise you, God. We look to you today. I just pray. Especially for people, individuals, for families, for churches, for cities, nations, who are experiencing broken hearts and deep wounds. We look to you and we say together, can we say it? Psalm 147:3, just say it out loud. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
