“Then he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and he came and stood before him, and he said, ‘Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel. So accept now a present from your servant.'”
(2 Kings 5:15)

I love this verse. This is when Naaman from Syria realizes there is only one God over all and as a result of realizing this, it changes everything about him. It changes everything about us when we realize who God is and how God, the one true God over all, is worthy of all our worship. We are tempted to worship so many little g gods, to give our lives, to lay our lives down, to live for so many other things.

We are tempted to live for many things, but there is only one true God who is worthy of our worship.

God, help us to remember, on a daily basis, there os only one true capital G God. And you are worthy of all our worship today. You are our God. Money is not our God. Success is not our God. Acclaim, achievements, fame, honor before men, are not our God. Oh God, we are not God. What we want, what we desire in our flesh, oh, none of that compares to you. You alone are God. Your ways alone are good. You alone are worthy of all our worship, so help us to worship you today as God, and to spread your glory that others might worship you as God. That others, like Naaman from Syria here might realize there is one God over all. We pray for that and friends and coworkers and family members around us.

God, we pray that you would use us to point people to you as the one true God, who alone can satisfy, who alone can save, who alone is worthy of worship. God, we pray for that right around us. We pray for that among the Mandar in Indonesia. God, half a million of them, 0.0% believe in the gospel of the one true God. God we pray. We pray, we plead for the spread of this truth. Your truth is the one true God. Among the Mandar in Indonesia, they worship so many different spirits. Animistic spirits. They believe inhabit certain places. God, we pray that they would know there is no god like you. You alone are worthy of worship and they don’t need to fear you ultimately because you love them, because you care for them so much that you sent Jesus to die on a cross for them to make the way for them to be reconciled to you, the one true God.

Oh God, please cause your salvation to be made known among the Mandar in Indonesia. Use us toward that end. Use Indonesian Christians toward that end, send missionaries toward that end to the Mandar and then God, we pray. We pray for your glory there and we pray for your glory, right where we live as the one true God. In our lives, help us to worship you as the one true God and in our spheres of influence today, we pray that you would use us to point people to your supremacy, to your love, to your mercy, ultimately to your greatness and your glory as the only true God. We pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
