Mostly found in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, India, the Rajasthani-speaking Jains number over 930,000. This people group is very active in charities and social welfare programs and frequently worships in Jain temples. The Rajasthani-speaking Jains populate the professional world in India as bankers, business owners, and doctors. They are often looked up to by Hindu communities.
The Rajasthani-Speaking Jains of India
You can usually find these Jains living with large extended families and observing strict vegetarian lifestyles, refraining from all meat, eggs, and plants that grow underground. There are very few Jains who have come to faith in Jesus, and the Rajasthani-speaking Jains are an unengaged, unreached people group.
Pray for people who speak the Rajasthani language to take the gospel to the Rajasthani-speaking Jains. Ask for God to begin a big movement of Jains coming to faith. Pray that Jains would see that they cannot attain salvation on their own and are in need of a Savior. Ask that they would find Jesus as the answer to their salvation problem.
The Unengaged and Unreached of India
More than 1.2 billion people live in the country of India, and our prayer focus for Secret Church 16: A Global Gospel in a World of Religions.
Out of the 1,469 people groups in India, 477 are unengaged and unreached with the gospel. This means they may be born, live, and die without ever hearing the name of Jesus.
We must do something. You can be a part of these people hearing the good news of Jesus Christ for the first time. In these weeks leading up to Secret Church 16, we will be sharing a few of these unengaged, unreached people groups who need to hear the gospel. Take time to read about these people, use the prayer requests to intercede on their behalf, share this information with others and get them to pray.
Will you stand in the gap and pray for those who have yet to hear of our Savior?
