Too Much Too Late?

Let’s be real. If you lay down on a bean bag near the end of Secret Church at midnight . . .

. . . you’re setting yourself up to fail.

Sometimes, though, you don’t have to try to set yourself up to fail. You may not be able to avoid cutting the night short if you’ve had an early morning, if you have a babysitter expecting you back right at midnight, if you’re on the east coast (AKA – the post 1am crowd), if your church has a grounds crew waiting on you to lock up the facility . . . or in the the “unlikely” event that the evening runs a bit long.

If you find yourself in any of these circumstances, or for that matter, if you find yourself tempted to collapse onto a bean bag, we’ve got options for you. One of the beautiful things about registering for the Secret Church simulcast is that you have 30 days to view the simulcast of the entire night in whatever way and at whatever time works best for your group. And since Secret Church is designed to be an information overload that you digest later, some of these replay options may actually be appealing when it comes to pacing yourself. Here are some suggestions.

  1. You could watch the first half of Secret Church live on April 24, then finish it the next weekend.
  2. You could break up your viewing of the simulcast into three or four nights, take it an hour or so at a time, and have time for dinner and discussion.
  3. You could watch the whole thing on another day at a time that best suits you – for example, on a Saturday from 9am-3pm with a break for lunch.
  4. You could participate in the whole thing live and then replay the last half on another night for the folks who had to leave before it was over.

Those are just four things that immediately came to mind. Who knows what you could think up? Get creative.

In other words, your “it’s too late” excuse doesn’t work. Neither do your “it’s too long” or “he’s too fast” excuses. With the replay, you can slow it down, break it up, watch it later, and watch it again. And this feature is built into every simulcast registration. So don’t let scheduling stop you. Register today.

Secret Church 15: Christ, Culture, and a Call to Action will take place on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6pm-midnight CT. Learn more here.

That means that the people with the most urgent spiritual and physical needs on the planet are receiving the least amount of support. Let's change that!
